integration > balance
Balance and counter-balancing are false positives for living a good life. Everything in moderation, really? Moderation is a foggy mirror blocking the view of that which is outside of self. The definition of the word spills the secret. Moderated by what? If excess and deficiency are the antonyms, what is being overwhelmed and what is being starved?
It’s the senses! So much, if not all, of ourselves are bound up in our sensory bubbles - experiences stop at the 5th sense…unless overwhelmed! Unless pushed! The monk on the 30th day of a fast excavates deep portions of themself invisible to moderation! Same with the wealthy man, the binger, the extremist. Become an extremist. Don’t you dare flatten the oscillations of a lived life… You’ll find yourself a shell of who you could’ve been, having found relaxation, but not your voice, the pulse of the universe echoing inside you.
It’s the edge of the universe where man meets muse. Integrate the imbalances into a grander view of life.. An interesting thing occurs when one is exposed to the extremes. Over time, they lose sensitivity to them. It no longer becomes about the next exhilarating moment or death defying stunt, rather the self expands through contraction. One is no longer bound by the senses, but by consciousness - permeating reality, collapsing the wave function. You then see yourself in all of existence at once and feelings are calibrated with the infinite. The extremes transform you into extremity itself, filling the universe. Filling it with compassion, or cruelty, or peace.
Praise God.
